Watchung Resident Survey for Repurpose of Camp Endeavor Property
The Borough of Watchung has an opportunity to repurpose the old Camp Endeavor property off of Sequoia Drive, which is approximately 9 acres.  The opinions and interests of the residents are very important to the committee, so that the land can be used for something that the majority of the Borough backs and is interested in.  Before any of these three options 1-3 (1 being top choice) for what the property could be repurposed into.  If you have any comments, ideas, or are interested in volunteering with this project, please put that in the comment section at the bottom.

Nature Trails - This option would consist of planting new trees and other plant life in the open land of the property, as well as constructing nature trails throughout the property.  This option is the least expensive and will require little maintenance after planting and creation of nature trails. *

Dog Park - This option would consist of fencing in two grassed areas, having one section designated for large dogs and the other for small dogs.  Dog park necessities such as shaded areas, park benches for owners, and water fountains would also be included in the space.  This is the intermediate cost option and would require some maintenance, such as cutting grass. *

Community Garden - This option would consist of creating a fenced in, sustainable community garden that would have a portion of food donated to people in need.  The garden would also be used with the Watchung Schools, specifically Bayberry School as it is in such close proximity to the Camp Endeavor property, to enrich learning about science, environmental sustainability, and charity.  This option is likely the most expensive, but can still be done in a cost effective way.  There is obvious maintenance as a garden needs tending to, which would be done by volunteers. *
