Mohawk College and McMaster University students (including Mohawk and Conestoga Nursing Program students) may use this form to request a virtual one-on-one session through the Elders and Knowledge Keepers-in-Residence Program.
This program is offered through the Mohawk and McMaster Indigenous Student Services and McMaster Indigenous Students Health Sciences offices for the 2020/2021 academic year. The EKKiR program increases awareness and understanding of history, traditions, and culture for all students by providing students access to Elders who are actively engaged in their communities and culture. Your Elders and Knowledge Keepers are one of your greatest resources!
Meeting times:
Virtual one-on-one meetings are 15 minutes in length and are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis according to availability. Booking priority is given to requests from Indigenous (FNIM) students.
*Note: For security, you must register with your full name and school email (Mohawk, McMaster, Conestoga, Medportal).
EKKiR One-on-One Cancellations
Sessions will be scheduled after your form request is received. You will be asked to confirm an appointment via email. Once you have confirmed a time with an Elder or Knowledge-Keeper, it is set aside exclusively for you. If you cannot attend the confirmed time please email
ishsapc@mcmaster.ca no later than 1 business day before your appointment. Cancellations may feel awkward but they are very much appreciated to respect our Elders' and Knowledge-Keepers' time. Cancellations of less than 24 hours’ notice due to COVID19 related reasons are understandable, please email and let us know!
If you have any questions or issues with this form, please email Catherine Booker, ISHS Assistant Program Coordinator at
