This training session will include the following modules with time for Q&A. The target audience is building department staff, but information is also very valuable for contractors and building industry professionals.


Course Topics
This class will review the 2019 Building Energy Efficiency Standards (Energy Code) low-rise residential envelope requirements. The envelope requirements cover windows, doors, roofing materials, air sealing, insulation, and quality insulation installation (QII). This training reviews how the requirements apply to newly constructed buildings, additions, and alterations. The mandatory, prescriptive, and performance methods of compliance for residential buildings will be discussed.
Instructor: Amie Brousseau

Amie Brousseau is an Energy Commission Specialist in the California Energy Commission’s Outreach and Education Unit. She specializes in the building envelope requirements, helping to develop resources and training materials to simplify the Energy Code. Amie is the current editor of the Blueprint newsletter. She has been involved with energy efficiency for 10 years working on energy audits, benchmarking, outreach activities and presentations. Amie is also a project manager and contract manager.
