A collaboration between the Spokane Regional Health District (SRHD) & Spokane Alliance (SA)
Thank you all for your interest in volunteering with the Spokane Alliance. In the first round of volunteer recruitment we had close to 200 volunteers sign-up to serve our community! Thank you!
***We are not currently training any new volunteers. Filling out this form will place you on a waitlist for the next round of trainings. We are aiming to hold Community Health Volunteer trainings via Zoom in 1-2 weeks.
Description
Community leaders are banding together to organize a means for relieving the burden of COVID-19 on our community and the local/county healthcare systems. COVID-19 appears to require hospitalization in up to 20% of infected people, but it is not easy to predict whose illness will ultimately require hospitalization. We expect that tens of thousands of people will be tested and tracking them will place a severe burden on medical and public health resources. The Spokane Alliance and SRHD will be collaborating to train neighborhood leaders to be community health volunteers to track and follow up on these patients, to identify and facilitate transfer to appropriate care and free up healthcare resources. Each volunteer will be assigned up to 10 COVID-19 positive individuals to follow-up with for up to 2 weeks.
Additionally, we want to know what other issues people are dealing with as fallout from COVID-19 so we can:
- Get them connected to available resources
- Organize a collective response to help Spokane recover
Please complete this form to express your interest.
