The San Leandro Unified School District would like to take the opportunity to acknowledge and recognize those students who demonstrate excellence in civics education and leadership in their classroom, school, community and/or society. Through their insight into societal problems, determination to take action, and thoughtfulness in reflection, they showcase what it means to graduate as a civically engaged citizen.  

You have been identified as a reference for a student applying for California's State Seal of Civic Engagement. There are 5 criteria for earning this award. You are being asked to convey your knowledge of the student's actions and civic-mindedness as described in Criteria 3 and Criteria 5.
