Camp Hardtner Scholarship Application
APPLICATION DEADLINE: MAY 19, 2023

Camp Hardtner, along with St. Barnabas, believe that a relationship with God and with others will make your life better. We want as many children as possible to experience that at Camp Hardtner. We believe so much in the value of camp that we make it a priority to partner with families to help get kids to camp. Finances should never prevent someone from experiencing summer camp.

Camp Hardtner has scholarship funds available to support campers with demonstrated financial need, and their application is found here: https://www.camphardtner.org/summer-camp/summer-camp-scholarships/. You may be asked to provide more information about your financial circumstances, and your case will be reviewed based on your specific need.

Remember that summer camp registration and scholarship applications are separate processes, so you must complete everything to be considered.

Camp Details and Financial Request
Please review the new tiered pricing options for camp located on the Camp Hardtner Registration Form (https://camphardtner.campbrainregistration.com/), and choose the rate that is best for your family. Please base your scholarship request on your chosen tier rather than defaulting to the Tier 1 costs.

Summer Camp Rates: In response to rising costs and the financial impact of the pandemic Camp Hardtner is adopting a Tiered Pricing system.

Tier 1 – True Cost Rate

This rate more closely accounts for the true costs of camp. True costs include all direct costs plus deferred maintenance, insurance, utilities, etc. Choosing Tier 1 gives you an opportunity to help us do more with the donor funding we receive. You help us stretch our limited scholarship funds further so more children can experience the power of camp. You help Hardtner make needed upgrades and continue to grow in the future.

Tier 2 – Direct Cost Rate
This represents the direct costs of camp. Direct costs include program costs, food, summer staff, and camp administration cost.

Tier 3 – Subsidized Rate
This is our historically subsidized rate of summer camp and does not reflect the true cost of operating the summer camp program. This is the rate you have always paid. This reduced rate is made possible through the mission funding dollars we receive from individual donors and churches who value the impact that the summer camp experience at Camp Hardtner has. This rate makes the camp experience available to more families.

More details about the tiered pricing model can be found here: https://camphardtner.org/summer-camp/dates-and-rates/.
Tier Rate Chosen by Family *
Dollar Amount Requesting from St. Barnabas *
We believe in shared responsibility. Our goal is that at least 1/3 of the camp fee can be met by the family, with the other 2/3 being shared by St. Barnabas and Camp Hardtner. Please prayerfully consider what amount is appropriate for your financial situation. If a family’s need exceeds this standard and you are asking to receive additional funds or are unable to pay anything toward your camp fee, specify that here. Please base your scholarship request on your chosen tier rather than defaulting to the Tier 1 costs.
