Event Rules: Competition Motorcycle Requirements:

Competitors must compete on a police motorcycle of at least 1000 cc’s that is equipped with standard equipment used for their normal course of duty.

No modifications or removal of standard equipment will be allowed, this includes removal of lights, reflectors, saddle bags, engine guards, radio boxes, etc. All motorcycles are subject to random inspections.

Motorcycle Malfunctions Once a competitor or team has begun an event:

No excuses for a breakdown will be allowed. This includes side stand problems.

               

                COMPETITION CLASSES

Novice/B Class. Any competitor who has competed in three or less police motorcycle competitions and has never placed individually in the top 3 at any police motorcycle competition.  

Expert/A Class: Any competitor who has competed in more than three police motorcycle competitions or has placed in individually in the top 3 at any police motorcycle competition.  

***Any competitor can choose to ride in the Expert class, but cannot go back down once they have chosen to move up.*** MOTORCYCLE DIVISIONS **

Harley Division –  Harley Davidson Road King / Electra Glide.

BMW Division - Harley Pan American, BMW, Honda, and Kawasaki MOTORCYCLES

 

MANDATORY COMPETITOR’S MEETING:

A meeting of all competitors riding in the Motorcycle Rodeo will be held on both mornings of Friday practice day and Saturday Competition day. The scoring and the approved path of travel through the events will be reviewed and demonstrated. The meeting will be conducted by BPD Senior Motor Officers Justin Enns and Adam Clayton.

At the completion of the competitors meeting, the track will be considered as “set” and will not be altered thereafter.

 

COURSE PENALTIES / SCORING:

Touching or Rubbing a cone: No penalty

Displacing a cone from it’s marked position: 1 second

Knocking down a cone: 2 seconds

Putting a foot down: 4 seconds

Bike down: Penalty will be the time it takes to pick up bike and get going again along with any cone penalties incurred

Run out of pattern: (Re-enter at same location) Any cone penalties incurred and time taken to re-enter at point of exit

Skipped portion or wrong direction of any part of the pattern: DNF

Runs will be timed and penalties will be combined for overall time.

The timed runs will be begin when the competitor’s front tire breaks the electric eye of the timer and end when the front tire breaks the electric eye of the timer when entering the “stop-box”. Not stopping within the confines of the stop-box will result in a 10 second penalty.
