UHi Indoor Percussion Recruitment/Sign Up
Hey all! I'm so excited to continue our indoor percussion program this year. We plan to start November 14th. The14th and 17th from 3-6 as "audition/technique camp days" .If you've never seen indoor before, check out Chino Hills High School below. It is kinda like marching band without wind players. If you are an orchestra student who thinks they want to join pit or battery next year for marching band, this is the place to get started. Develop skills NOW so you're ready to be great in the Fall. If you play piano, or have taken lessons in the past you would make an EXCELLENT mallet player and it is such a welcoming group to be a part of.

We're open to any and all students, percussion experience is NOT required. We'll have a few "technique camp" days to get people placed on an instrument that would fit them best. You're essential no matter what instrument you end up being placed on! We just want you to have the best season + learning experience possible, so don't sweat it if you "really want to play quads/snare" but were placed on bass drum or elsewhere. EVERY part is important and plays a huge role. You will still learn a lot and have a ton of fun no matter where you are placed.

This activity is going to last through March, culminating in some half time performances @ basketball games a potential showcase with our local schools + a potential trip to Oregon (~March 25th ish). It is important that you are attending rehearsal (just like marching band expectations) + can make it to the show days once we have them (I'll have them well in advance.) This is a COMMITMENT, as we are all essential parts of the team. Rehearsals will MOST likely be Monday Thursday, (3-6) as basketball games tend to be Tuesday Friday. Depending on availability of students, that may change.  Participation in a winter sport + this activity would be very difficult, as they are both demanding tasks that require your commitment. If you are in a situation where you think it would be doable, we can have that conversation!

In addition, there will be a $150 fee for joining this ensemble. This helps cover show costs as our show is custom fit to our needs + potential travel costs It also helps replace mallets/heads etc at the end of seasons to keep us running in good shape. If the fee is a barrier for you, let me know and we will work it out! Additional paperwork
I want a tentative count of numbers and interest so I can get our show written. Please fill out the form below as accurately as possible!
