JClaus@upperpinefpd.orgThe Upper Pine Fall 2021 EMT-Basic Course will begin September 21st. The cost is $2300.00 and covers the tuition, didactic lectures and psychomotor skills proctoring, course textbooks and online learning resources, a class tee-shirt (worn for ride-alongs with the medic units), AHA CPR Certification and the National Registry Psychomotor Exam fee. We will be incorporating some Virtual Reality training, an ambulance driver simulation evening with the CO Department of Fire Prevention & Control driver simulator and hopefully a field trip to an autopsy. Some of the lectures may be on Zoom but most classes will be held at the UPRFPD Administration building in Bayfield.
Any students affiliated with a Colorado EMS agency (fire/EMS, private or health district EMS agency or Search & Rescue) may be eligible for grant money if we are awarded a CREATE Grant for the class (TBD in late August).
Requirements include:
• 18 years of age or older prior to the completion of the course
• Proof of Hepatitis B vaccination series (this can be started if you haven't already had it) or the signing of a declination form if you do not want the vaccination (generally required to be employed by EMS agencies)
• Immunization records
• Half of the course payment at the start of the first class (non-refundable): $1150.00
• Second half payment by October 7th: $1150.00
• Valid Driver's License
