Your experience in the RSA
We are particularly interested in hearing from scholars of color and from scholars of any race or ethnicity who, through their scholarship, teaching, professional development, or activism, are actively engaged in issues of social and racial justice. The RSA has already taken some action, by introducing considerations of diversity into fellowship competitions, by creating disciplinary groups in Africana Studies and Women and Gender, and by including more diversity-related scholarship in the annual conference.

The Working Group on Diversity and Inclusion is interested in looking at how the RSA website, Annual Meeting, Renaissance Quarterly journal, governing structure, pedagogy, image of Renaissance studies, communications, and funding structure might change to reflect the Society's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We are eager to discuss your opinions of these initiatives and to hear about what other things the organization could be doing. In order to help us prepare for the conversations, please consider answering the following questions:
How could the RSA do a better job welcoming you, your scholarship, and/or your professional development?
What do you think the RSA can do to foster meaningful change with respect to issues around diversity and inclusion?
What questions and themes would you like to see addressed?
Voluntary self-identification questions
The RSA requests participants to disclose information that will help the Working Group on Diversity and Inclusion to better understand the attendees in each session and begin to gather statistics that will support our work. Participation is voluntary and answers will be shared with the Working Group on Diversity and Inclusion.
