Freshmen Leadership Positions for 2021-2022 school year

Students must complete the entire application to be considered for either an elected position or an appointed position.

Timeline for 2021-2022 Freshmen Leadership Selection Process:

2/9/2021 -- Applications available online
2/26/2021 -- Applications due by 3:00 p.m.
3/29/2021 -- Freshmen interviews begin (Schedule will be emailed out)

Winners will be notified by email once interviews are completed

Position Descriptions:
Freshman Class President – runs class meetings, organizes freshmen officers and homecoming activities
Freshman Class Vice President – assists Freshman president
Freshman Class Secretary/Treasurer – takes notes at meetings, keeps track of class budget
Publicity Committee – publicize school events on posters and social media.
Lunchtime Activities Committee – plan lunch time events, recognition, competitions, and special activities for students.
Sound & Video Committee – work sound system at events and create videos to help advertise events.
Rally & Spirit Committee – plan rallies and plan fun activities for the Red Sea.
Historian – Photograph and scrapbook all leadership events.
Student Staff Connections Coordinator - Designs and implements Locker decorations during homecomings and spirit weeks, Teacher appreciation and birthday celebrations
Inner Club Council - Hold monthly meetings with officers of all Clubs on campus to get up-to-date information on their events. Keep Clubs informed and updated on upcoming events.

Expectations & Major Projects for Student Leaders at Beyer:

~Fall Homecoming Float: 20-30 hours Sept & October evenings & weekends
~Winter Homecoming Hallway Decorating: 1 weekend in late January or early February -- Friday evening, most of Saturday & Sunday
~3 dances a year. Each student must set up or clean up for each dance. Dances end at 11 p.m. Clean up Schedule is 11:15-12:30 a.m.
~LOTS of RED SEA school spirit events - students will be required to attend sporting events each season to help promote school teams & school spirit

I acknowledge that I am applying for an elected class office or appointed leadership position. I further acknowledge that I have read all of the requirements for applying for leadership positions.

All officers must uphold the high standards of Beyer High School ASB. Leadership students are role models and leaders. I understand that any student not maintaining high personal, academic, and behavioral standards both on and off campus may forfeit his or her position.

I agree to attend all meetings and functions concerning ASB matters which may be called any time before school, after school, on weekends, during vacation, or at lunch.

I understand that I must currently hold, and I agree to maintain at least a 2.0 GPA throughout my term in office.

I understand that if I am elected or appointed, I must enroll in the leadership class during 0 period.

I have read and understand the student conduct code of MCS district regarding eligibility requirements for participation in school activities and agree to abide by these rules and regulations.

Any leadership student who is absent for 15 days of leadership class, 15% of properly publicized meetings, and/or fails to participate in general ASB activities and work sessions shall be subject to removal.

All leadership students will be expected to adhere to Beyer High School and MCS policies and rules regarding tardies, unexcused absences, dress code, cellphones, and any other policies.
