What an incredible stewardship we have in how many college students the Lord has put in our midst. We rejoice at this! As you know, college can often be a difficult transition for many students, especially those who are living far from home. For many students college is an unparalleled time of making friends and forming relationships, especially with other students. Sometimes college students miss out on relationships with older mature believers who can provide differing perspectives and wise counsel. Many students have actually verbally expressed interest in these types of relationships! In an effort to make more connections between our college students and the rest of the church body, we are resurrecting our “Adopt-a- College Student” Program. We want to provide you with an opportunity to sign up to be a family that will adopt a college student. Don’t worry you won’t have to feed and house a college student for an entire semester. Adopting a college student looks like inviting them over to do things you would normally do. Invite them to lunch with you or your family after church, have them over for dinner, or a game night. If you have children you could take them to your kids sports activities. Treat them like one of the family in hopes of building a relationship that they (or you!) might need one day.
