This course is an on-line course that fulfills the state requirement for teachers in Georgia.
Introduction to Educating Exceptional Children and Youth provides a comprehensive look at the complex realm of special education services. This course will examine the many facets that are associated with the legally appropriate identification, assessment and instructional delivery of programs set forth by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Learners will explore a variety of disability categories and demonstrate rudimentary familiarity with instructional interventions that assist in providing a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) to special students.
