- Posting Comments Online (Monthly Opportunity): When new survivor stories are posted on the Awake blog, we like there to be a flood of supportive messages in the comments so that these survivors will see this soon after the post goes live. As you can imagine, sharing a story in this way is a very big step for some people, and it means a lot for them to know that many caring people are reading and responding with compassion and kindness.
- Sending Cards (Occasional Opportunity): From time to time, we do a special care package of written cards for a survivor who is going through a particularly difficult time. In the past we have called this effort "Let's Be Church." Typically, people sign up to participate and then send these cards to Milwaukee, where we pack them up and send them to the survivor.
Can you help these victim-survivors feel surrounded by love and support?
By signing up, you are simply agreeing to receive emails from an Awake staff member or volunteer coordinating this ministry. You can always choose whether or not to participate in any given month.
Thank you! This may seem like a simple thing, but I know how valuable supportive messages can be to those who need a little extra encouragement.
With gratitude,
Sara Larson
