IFSAC Fire Instructor I
Mandatory Pre-Requisites: IFSAC Firefighter I, IFSAC Firefighter II, IFSAC Hazardous Materials Awareness, IFSAC Hazardous Materials Operations, certified Kentucky Firefighter for at least 2 years and an active member of a Fire Department.

*An exception to the above requirement is for those who are not firefighters and are seeking the credential in order to meet methodology requirements set forth by the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services for initial EMS Instructor certification.  However, please note that priority seating in the course is given to firefighters meeting all pre-requisite requirements outlined above. 

The course is limited to twenty (20) participants.

  • September 16, 2023 - 0800 - 1700 EST

  • September 22, 2023 - 0800 - 1700 EST
  • September 23, 2023 - 0800 - 1700 EST
  • September 24, 2023 - Skills & Written Testing* (Time: TBA)
Successful completion of the course requires attendance and participation during ALL sessions. You cannot be attending and considered on-duty with the anticipation/possibility that you would be required to respond to an incident.

*There is a fee of $25.00 associated with completing the written examination. Payment for this fee MUST be in the form of a Money Order -or- Cashier's Check made payable to KCTCS/KY Fire Commission.  No cash, personal checks -or- cards are accepted.  

*It is mandatory that all participants have a copy of the required textbook, IFSTA Fire & Emergency Services Instructor, 9th edition.  

*It is recommended, however not required, to obtain a copy of the IFSTA Fire and Emergency Services Instructor, 9th ed. Workbook.
