Children must be 3- or 4-years-old as of August 31, 2020 in order to enroll.  
Children must live in the Asheville City Schools district, unless the parent is a district employee or there is a sibling enrolled in ACS.  
Other out of district students are not eligible to apply at this time due to limited Pre-K capacity.
Eligibility for each program varies by age and income, and some enrollment options require additional applications.
To be considered for Head Start, please contact Community Action Opportunities at 828-252-2495 to complete a Head Start Pre-K application for our locations.

 If your child will be 4 as of August 31 and you are income eligible for NC Pre-K, please also complete the NC Pre-K application, available on our website typically by March each year. If your child is 3 and you meet the income guidelines for NC Pre-K but not Head Start, our staff will follow up with you about next steps for potential scholarship opportunities.
