Downtown Businesses are invited to
share feedback regarding the May 13, 2023, Butterfly Stroll!
This year's event was held simultaneously with some amazing
Town of Manchester Bicentennial celebrations! We are specifically looking
for feedback on the Butterfly Stroll, as it was the only portion of Saturday’s
events that was organized by District staff.
- Butterfly Stroll : Our annual
event which includes butterfly art creations, family activities, and
business-sponsored specials and activities. This was our 3rd year! This
was the only portion of Saturday's events that was organized by District
staff.
The following events
took place on May 13th but were NOT organized by the District.
- Free Trolley & Art Tour: WORK_SPACE worked with the Town of Manchester to arrange an
historic trolley and 3 Venue Art Tour as part of 300 Years of Art!
This was funded as part of the Manchester Bicentennial celebration and was
largely organized by Stacey Z. and her team at WORK_SPACE. Our downtown
members were invited and encouraged to be a part of this. It was a great
addition to the day. Thank you, WORK_SPACE!
- Reflect. Celebrate. Dream in the
Park & More: The Town of Manchester's
Bicentennial team, and the Department of Family. Leisure and Recreation,
organized several great events. This included the celebration in Center
Memorial Park as well as other local events on the trolley route. We were
thrilled with the way these events brought excitement -and guests-
downtown!
- The Market at 1115 Main: This market is hosted by a downtown business, and like any
other business is complete responsible for its own funding, organization
and promotion. The Downtown promotes this market in the same manner that
it promotes any activities offered by our businesses, assuming we are
informed. This is not a Downtown District event, but we are thankful
to have it as part of our community! Thank you for bringing fun -and
guests - downtown each month!
You may still be wondering just what IS the Downtown
District? The Downtown Manchester Special Services District (DMSSD) is a
formal cooperation amongst property owners and business owners within a defined
boundary. The District was founded to support the economic vitality of Downtown
Manchester and is funded by a special property tax, our parking program, and
generous sponsors. Downtown Members are our property owners and
businesses that operate Downtown.
The Downtown District is run by volunteer commissioners and
part-time staff. Currently, our part-time staff includes our Downtown Manager,
Bernie L., Marketing Assistant, Joy P., and 2 Parking Ambassadors - Rick J. and
Bob H.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback!
