Silver Legs Uncrossed - Submission Form

The William Way LGBT Community Center, in collaboration with the Dyke+ ArtHaus and as a part of (re)FOCUS, will showcase elder Lesbian artists during the month of April when Lesbian Visibility Day and Lesbian Visibility Week are celebrated.

We invite Lesbian artists 55 and over to submit work that reflects a pivotal period in their practice when they felt either the most visible or the most invisible - to the world, or to themselves. In defiance of an ageist, misogynist, and lesbophobic world, in protest against social expectations, both low and high.

We are particularly interested in receiving submissions from Black, brown, Indigenous, and people of color, trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming Lesbian artists.

Venue: We’ve partnered with Dyke+ ArtHaus (709 North 40th Street) to exhibit in their space.

Exhibition dates: April 7th - May 5th, 2024.

Deadline: February 28, 2024 (by midnight). Submissions will not be accepted after this date.

Artwork requirements: All forms of visual art are eligible including collage, drawing, painting, photography, prints, multimedia, sculpture, video, and outdoor installation.

Location requirement: Artists must have an address in Philadelphia, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, or Bucks Counties in Pennsylvania; Camden, Gloucester, or Burlington Counties in New Jersey.

Please note: All artwork offered for sale will be brokered by William Way LGBT Community Center. Artists will receive 65% of all sales with 20% going to the Center to support its Arts & Culture Programs, and 15% going to Dyke+ ArtHaus for hosting our exhibition. Please price your artworks accordingly. You may also choose not to offer an artwork for sale by including "NFS" for Not For Sale in the description.
