UBMS Summer Research Project/Class
The TRIO: Upward Bound Math Science program hosts a residential summer program, for low-income, first-generation, college-bound students. During this program, students participate in academic classes, Monday-Thursday during the month of June. These classes focus on enrichment, rather than remediation. We are looking for staff who can introduce STEM concepts to high school students, through activities that help them learn and pique their interests, giving them deeper insights into what "STEM" consists of. In the past UBMS has hired UTC and Chattanooga State Faculty and Staff, HCDE Teachers, UTC Graduate Assistants, and Community STEM Professionals to engage our students in STEM activities.

Our goal is to provide students with dynamic and engaging, hands-on STEM activities, that can incorporate multiple aspects of STEM, in ways that may not be available to high school students in their schools. These projects/classes can last for 2 weeks or 4 weeks. Teaching/Leading the project/class is a paid position with UBMS. Project/Class materials will also be provided by UBMS.

This form allows UBMS to understand the project/class you would like to lead with students, how much time you need, and the materials necessary for a successful project/class.

Please, answer the following questions, and provide as much information as possible about what you need, what you plan to accomplish with students, and share information about the project/class you would like to teach!
