Your Family's Plan: Part B (Due 2/18)

Thank you for joining our new La Familia Discipleship Program with St. Lawrence Catholic Church and School! The goal is for families to grow in their faith together by 1) learning something new, 2) spending time together in prayer, and 3) serving others. Please follow these simple steps to complete your family’s achievements:

STEP 1: Check the boxes by the goals your family will complete from the list provided below and/or include ideas of your own. Make sure it's a family project you can commit to completing between November and February 18th.

STEP 2: Click SUBMIT. You will immediately receive a copy with a summary of “Your Family’s Plan” via email.

STEP 3: As you complete your goals, please send pictures we can share by email/bulletins/social media to LaFamiliaSTL@gmail.com - Other families may be inspired to try what you've done! To see what others have sent, visit: https://www.facebook.com/groups/LaFamiliaSTL/

STEP 4: After completing your goals, fill out your Achievement Form. *Option #1: Visit http://www.stlawrence.org/discipleship-award-program.html to print your Achievement Form to hand in or email to Mrs. Roman (mroman@stlawrence.org) or Mrs. Sarah Williford (swilliford@stlawrence.org) by February 18th. *Option #2: You can fill out your Achievement Form digitally here: https://forms.gle/bzMwU13HqfYK372i7

*If you've participated before, you'll notice the check-in for Mass has moved! We now have a way for families to tell us their personal take-home message from Mass here: https://forms.gle/nQ1R9Bb6KFh4WBxj8 - Was it something special that happened, lyrics from one of the songs, or a thought from the homily? You're invited to send a quick message after each Mass your family attends.

Growing in Our Faith - Advent/Christmas

God has given each person in your family special gifts and talents. How can we use those to help others? How is God calling your family to grow together over these 3 months?

Family Goal for Attending Mass Now through Feb 8th (Examples: Every Weekend and Holy Days, Growing closer to Jesus, etc.)

Count your blessings. Write down as many things as you can think of that your family is thankful for.

Read from the Bible the Nativity story in Matthew 1-2 and Luke 1-2.

Learn about the difference between Advent (12/1-12/24) and Christmas (12/25-1/6). Decide how your family will celebrate both liturgical seasons.

Create or find a playlist of religious songs for Advent & Christmas. Bonus option - share your playlist though social media.

Serve before, during, or after Mass. We have many opportunities: greeting at the doors, Video Team running the slides, singing/playing an instrument, reading, ushering, bringing up the gifts, Cafe San Lorenzo's coffee & donuts. Contact Tim Cleaver. (tcleaver@stlawrence.org)

Attend one of the Thanksgiving Day Masses: Wed 11/27 at 7pm; Thurs 11/28 at 6:30am or 8:30am.

Visit the statue of the Holy Family in the church near the piano and pray an Our Father.

Bring your Advent wreath and/or candles to be blessed at Mass on Nov 30/Dec 1 weekend (11/30-12/1)

Come to our Advent Family Potluck & Movie Night on Friday, Dec 13th 6-8:30pm - watching "The Star". RSVP at www.stlawrence.org/movie

Help your middle schooler get to Edge at least twice and discuss as a family their experience. (www.stlawrence.org/edge)

Visit the Christ Child Chapel for Adoration any Thur, Fri, or Sat. Call the office (875-4040) for the code.

Have a tech-free day - offer it as a prayer of fasting.

Help serve Thanksgiving Dinner at St Lawrence on 11/28 at 11am. Confirm available spots with Deacon Cris: cstout@stlawrence.org

Select a Christmas present tag from the Giving Tree to donate to families served through Matthew 25.

Christmas Caroling Adventure! (Limited to 25 people.) Sign up with Tim Cleaver to visit 4 local rehab centers/ nursing homes on Sunday, Dec 15th from 1:45pm-4:30pm.

Participate in the Nativity Play at the 4:00pm Vigil Mass on Christmas Eve. Contact Sarah Williford. (swilliford@stlawrence.org)

Keep in your vehicle soft granola bars, water, or warm/dry items like socks and give them to those in need.

Purchase and bring food for Matthew 25 Center. Donation boxes are by the church doors.

Donate clothing and/or other items to a charity of choice.

Personally invite another family to participate in this Discipleship Program!
