CT School Library Staff Support and Professional Development Survey
This survey will be used for a special project for a Southern CT graduate student completing the MLIS degree.  All answers will be kept confidential.

This study will reach out to Primary School staff in Connecticut Libraries, both certified and non-certified.  To improve our school libraries support on a district level and professional development opportunities for all library staff is imperative.  Professional Development and learning opportunities are important tools that empower our staff and build our field.  While budget challenges have resulted in cuts across the state we have seen reduction in certified staff and this study will identify what opportunities are offered to both certified and non-certified Library roles.

The study seeks to answer the following research questions:
What professional development opportunities and support are in place for School Library staff across districts in CT?
Do non-certified library staff have the same opportunities for training, district support and professional learning networks that certified staff do?
Are all library staff aware of the Professional Development opportunities available to them?
What barriers and challenges to Professional Development exist for both certified and non-certified Library Staff?
