This summer marks the first year of Beloved Community's Summer Youth Research Academy.

The Summer Youth Research Academy is an 3-week summer program for high school students (ages 14-18). They will conceptualize, design, carry out, and analyze a research question that is important to them as youth in the community and to their community.

πŸ”Ή Youth who are selected to participate will receive a stipend of $900 for their valuable work as summer researchers.

Beloved is seeking nominations for young people who are:

πŸ”Ή Committed to social justice values or demonstrates an interest in activism
πŸ”Ή Interested in teamwork and diversity
πŸ”ΉPositive, motivated, talented, and creative

Eligibility
The Summer Youth Research Academy has space for 20 participants in Summer 2023.

All applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible to participate:

πŸ”Ή Priority is given to youth who attend or have attendedΒ New Orleans, Memphis, Indianapolis, Kansas City, and Washington, D.C. (DMV) public/charter schools. Youth who attend private schools and are homeschooled are still encouraged to apply!
πŸ”Ή Must be between ages of 14 and 18. Students turning 14 or 19 over the summer are welcome to apply.
πŸ”Ή Must be able to provide parent/guardian consent (if under 18).

9:30am until 3pm CST
