Traffic danger is a major limitation on children's independence, and collisions are the third leading cause of death among Canadian children. Researchers at Polytechnique Montréal, INRS, McMaster University, and Université Laval are investigating how traffic danger affects children's daily travel. The research aims to build a tool that can
estimate traffic danger on the street network so that interventions might be better targeted. A focus group discussion will be conducted to understand your ideas regarding factors that affect traffic danger for children. There will be three meetings. The first will be take from 2 to 3 hours, but the following meetings will last 1 to 1.5 hours.
The focus groups are part of a research project approved by the Polytechnique
Montréal ethics committee (certificate #CER-2223-63-D).
At this point, we are collecting potential participants. Not everyone will be able
to participate as we need to find common times that people are available to
meet in the discussion groups.
Potential dates for the meeting will be emailed to you soon. Please add
"shabnam.abdollahi@polymtl.ca" to your safe email address list (or
check your junk email periodically in case it goes there).
Once we have determined who is available for the group discussions, we will send a
consent form.
