Arcola Refugee Community Company - expression of interest form 2024

Who the group is for: Specifically for those from forced migration backgrounds. Open to adults aged 18+ .

What will happen at the sessions: A weekly creative group to explore artistic expression. 

The experienced facilitators will lead the participants on a journey through physical theatre, movement and gesture, dance, acting and performance, poetry, and writing to explore their creativity and work with and alongside other adults in an open, friendly, and supportive weekly group.  The group will work towards a showing at the end of March 2024.

Information:

  • performance making sessions for adults who have experienced forced migration
  • Weekly sessions from 15th January-w/c 25th March 2024
  • Mondays 7pm-8.30pm
  • The sessions will be in English. Arabic and French are spoken by the facilitators. 
  • The sessions are free to attend. 
  • No theatre experience is necessary. Just an interest in exploring creative/artistic practices. 
  • A hot drink and snack will be provided.
  • All sessions will take place at Arcola Theatre, 24 Ashwin Street, Dalston, Hackney, London, E8 3DL
