SAW 2024-25 Emerging Artist in Residence
In 2022 we launched our Gainesville Emerging Artist in Residence Program, inviting young and emerging comics artists to use the SAW space as a shared studio at no cost for 6 to 12 months at a time.

In exchange for access to the studio space and library, first look to sign up to in person workshops, access to our online catalogue of resources and ongoing professional development opportunities, we ask Emerging Artists in Residence to use the SAW space for a minimum 5 hours a week, and create a workshop, artists talk or community activation event/series.

We are now requesting applications for our 2024-25 residency period.

Eligibility is not limited to cartoonists. Visual storytellers, printmakers and book artists will also be considered. If you are interested, please fill out this short application form. Applications will be accepted up until August 11, 2024.

A note: some of these questions are personal. As a non-profit we're seeking financial support from State, Federal and Private funders. This information helps us in our reporting processes it will not be used outside of that context.
