Forum Central - Learning Disability Awards 2024

Forum Central - Learning Disability Awards, previously, the Tenfold Awards, have taken place as part Leeds Learning Disability Week. This year, we are back! 21st June 2024, at the Marriott Hotel Leeds.

The Learning Disability Awards recognise and celebrate the amazing work done in Leeds to support and improve the lives of people with learning disabilities.

The Awards were first hosted in 2013, previously in the name of Tenfold. Our name is now Forum Central.  


Awards Criteria and Guidance

Forum Central is now inviting nominations for the 2024 awards.

The Award categories are:

  1. Volunteer of the Year  

  2. Making a Difference

  3. Forum Central Member of the Year

  4. Outstanding Contribution Award

Nominations can be made by anyone, but you must vote for a VCSE organisation or someone who volunteers for a VCSE organisation, in Leeds.

A VCSE organisation is Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Organisations or sometimes called ‘third sector’ organisations.

VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR

To nominate a volunteer from any VCSE organisation for Volunteer of the Year, please read the following guidance and make sure they meet the criteria: 

Volunteer of the Year Criteria:
This award recognises the valuable contribution of a volunteer.  It is for an individual who is unpaid and who volunteers within the field of learning disability. 


Guidance:
This category is for someone who has demonstrated that they are a star volunteer. This person should be reliable, trustworthy, show a real dedication and enthusiasm for volunteering, and have a positive attitude. It could be someone who has been a volunteer for any length of time, but their passion for volunteering shines through.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE

To nominate a project or piece of work from any VCSE organisation for Making a Difference, please read the following guidance and make sure they meet the criteria:


Making a Difference criteria:
This award is for a scheme, project or piece of work that has made a positive and real difference to people’s lives. It is not an award for individuals.


Guidance: 

Nominations in this category could be about improvements in health, making people feel safer, developing skills and creating employment opportunities or supporting people to have friends and good social activities.  Or it could be something else that you know about that has made a real difference!  Above all, it must demonstrate a positive outcome for learning disabled people.

FORUM CENTRAL MEMBER OF THE YEAR 

Anyone can make a nomination for their favourite VCSE Forum Central member, organisations can also nominate themselves.

OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION AWARD

To nominate an individual or group from any VCSE organisation for Outstanding Contribution please read the following guidance and make sure they meet the criteria: 


Outstanding Contribution criteria:
This award is open to individuals, volunteers and paid employees who have made an outstanding contribution during their career in the field of Learning Disabilities.


Guidance:
As these awards show, there are some incredible people in Leeds, working hard to support people with learning disabilities and to make their lives better.

This year we are opening up this category for nominations so that you can have your say about that exceptional contribution that you believe deserves to be recognised.
