7th/8th Grade Choir Club Form

Why join Choir Club?

  • You like to sing.
  • You’d like to learn how to sing.
  • You wanted to take choir but couldn’t fit it into your school schedule.
  • You are already enrolled in choir and would enjoy more time to hang out and make music with friends.
  • You like eating!
  • You’re interested in participating in singing concerts and contests, as a team member and/or a soloist.
  • You like going on field trips.
  • You would like to make friends and make memories.

How will it work?

· We meet on Thursdays after school, from 3:45 to 5:15. NOTE: The MS UIL Team will be practicing during this time from Jan. 12 through March 1.  Choir Club members not on the UIL team may still attend practices to observe, hang out, enjoy refreshments, and prep for Solo & Ensemble Contest in April.  :-) 

· We meet in the choir room; pickup outside the music building.

· There are free snacks provided every week!


Those 7th & 8th graders who are not enrolled in choir but participate in Choir Club will get to:

- Have a choir t-shirt for just $10.

- Sing in concerts:

              - March 3, Pre-UIL Concert.  All Choir Students will perform, whether they are going to UIL or not.

              - May 5, Hudson Spring Pops Show.  All Choir Students will perform songs that THEY have selected by                  voting.  These can be pop, rock, country, R&B, etc.

- Participate in competitions: There is a Solo & Ensemble Contest in Lufkin on April 22 where you could compete!

- Travel on several fun choir trips.


These meetings/practices will not be for a grade. Those not enrolled in choir class can still earn the chance to participate in fun choir activities with your attendance at Choir Club practices and at choir rehearsals and performances.
