In 1969, the Freedom Farm Cooperative was formed to organize Black farmers around justice and food sovereignty. Only 55 years ago, the Freedom Farm Cooperative had invested energy and money into building a pig bank to feed the Black community in Sunflower County, Mississippi. We believe this history needs to be understood in the context of the struggle for Black food and land sovereignty, the poor health of Fannie Lou Hamer, post-slavery, sharecropping, animal exploitation, and capitalism. With this historical context, we better understand the redefinition of liberation. 

A discussion on Liberation & Wellness will be held at Liberation Farm led by Omowale Adewale. 
Our goal is a Black Cooperative that focuses on food and land sovereignty, healing and rest.

Liberation & Wellness Gathering is a Black Vegan Camping Event. Liberation Farm grows people and plants. We are a Black Farm and Healing Space that is dedicated to All Black People on 340 acres. We dedicate our work to liberation and other forms of Liberation including the liberation of animals. We are the largest Black and vegan space in the US.
