I'm looking for leaders from senior care communities, senior centers, Villages and other organizations. It would also be wonderful to have technology specialists, elder advocates and leaders in senior serving organizations. Speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, assistive tech specialist and special ed teachers are also perfect for this group! My mission is to have a dynamic group of community leaders to join forces, share information and update their knowledge to better help seniors.
Sessions will be hybrid and led primarily by me (Joan Green). You can learn more about all that I do on my website-
www.innovativespeech.com.
Participants will be expected to spend about an hour or two reading material, watching videos or trying features or apps prior to our sessions. I will be using a Flipped approach to learning- providing content to review in advance. I've offered two ElderTech Advisor and Teacher Cohorts to 75 participants last year and update the curriculum for each group.
Together we will problem solve and brainstorm solutions.
My goal is to help you get the most out of our time together to maximize learning about emerging technologies that are most helpful for older adults. Participants will learn about apps, accessibility features, smart assistants, generative AI, and online sites. We will share resources for how to learn more and access terrific content for teaching classes.
Participants will discuss the concept of the role of a "tech concierge" for ongoing support and strategies for teaching tech and building capacity to assist in communities of older adults.
The group will take place over 5 weeks.
The cost to participate is $297.00 (unless I can find a nonprofit group to collaborate with that has funding via a grant)
