Hello! Thank you for your interest in the Kilometer Kids program that will be open to Simpson families for the 2019 Fall Season.

Our names are Alison and Eric Heintz, and we have 3 boys who are at Simpson Elementary (5th, 4th, and 1st). For the past few years, we have explored ways to initiate a "run club" at Simpson and are pleased to say that we are starting an Atlanta Track Club Kilometer Kids program for children of Simpson Elementary!

PRELIMINARY DETAILS
* Open to all Simpson students (K-5) regardless of ability or experience.
* 11-week program with orientation practice starting on 8/28 at 5:00 pm.
* Practice will be 1 hour 2x per week (Mondays and Wednesdays) - start time of 5:00 pm.
* Lessons incorporate running-related games, drills, and stretches.
* We will need to maintain a ratio of 1 coach: 15 kids. No experience necessary for Assistant Coaches!
* Location: Pinckneyville Middle School track.
* Cost: While there is no charge to utilize the Kilometer Kids program, we will be asking for voluntary nominal donations to help cover liability insurance we secured to utilize an off-site location and some simple supplies and equipment.
* This is a low stress, fun program aimed at getting kids active. This is not a "competitive team", but there will be opportunities to participate in free, mid-week fun runs and other youth running events organized by Atlanta Track Club.

At this time, we are collecting information from families who have children at Simpson and are interested in participating. We will send out a registration link with season information shortly. Additionally, we will need parent/guardian volunteers to serve as Assistant Coaches and help with some administrative duties as the inaugural year will require a lot of grace, patience, and work to get up and running.
