Canine Cognition Lab at Brown University: Participant Questionnaire
Thank you for your interest in our research. If you would like to register your dog to participate in the lab, please fill out the questionnaire below. The questionnaire takes approximately 10-15 minutes, and it's important that you fill it out as completely and accurately as possible so that we can get to know your dog and determine if our studies are suitable for them to participate in. If you have more than 1 dog, please fill out the questionnaire separately for each dog you would like to register to participate with the lab.

The information you will be asked to provide below will only be used by our research team for the purposes of contacting you about relevant studies that your dog is eligible to participate in. You are able to withdraw your dog and your contact information from our studies and our database at any time.
Filling out this form does not obligate you to participate in our research in any way, nor does it guarantee your dog's placement in our studies; it only allows us to inform you about opportunities to take part in our research if your dog meets our study criteria.

To be eligible to participate in our research, your dog:

(1) must be up to date on rabies vaccinations (we will need to see a current tag or certificate from your vet prior to your first visit to the lab)
(2) must be generally healthy at the time of participation
(3) must have no record of aggression towards humans

When we are in need of dog volunteers, we will contact you with details about the current study. All of our tasks involve your dog working for treats with members of our research team, so they need to be food-motivated and comfortable around new people. Sessions last approximately 30-60 minutes and our testing space is located in the Metcalf research building on Brown's campus. We can provide compensation for local travel to our lab , and we will provide more information about this if you and your dog schedule to participate in one of our research studies.

We run studies year round, however you will not be contacted immediately upon submitting the questionnaire due to the high volume of inquiries we receive. Thank you for being patient. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us via email: doglab@brown.edu.
