Dr Jenny Search (DrReSearch) and Lorraine Coghill (Durham University) are planning to make a resource for primary schools to challenge perceptions about the types of jobs that people can do. We want to produce a set of pictures of people who have links with the North East (current or past) who are doing interesting and may be challenging stereotypes in their job. The jobs will all be related to science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).
We have used a similar activity produced by another organisation and it is very successful at stimulating discussions and showing diverse types of jobs. We now want to create a version with people who live, work or are from the North East so the children we work with can really see that people from their region, like them, can do all sorts of things.
If you are interested in being involved, please fill in this short form and we will be in touch if we are able to include you in the resource. Please note that we want to make the pack as diverse as possible so please don't be offended if we do not include you.
Your information will be stored on this form and on a secure spreadsheet by Dr Jenny Search for the duration of the project and then deleted. If you are not included in the project, your data will be deleted as soon as the decision is made.
Thank you for your interest. If you have any questions or would like further information, please contact
