Congratulations on joining the Melodia Ensemble of the Bay Phil Youth Orchestra! Please take a moment to reach through the terms of you participation below. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us.
Terms and Conditions for all returning and new members.
Bay Philharmonic Youth Orchestra(BPYO) members to include students and families are required to abide by the following terms and conditions:
• The BPYO program is under the auspices of the Bay Philharmonic. In addition to attending the weekly rehearsals, an integral part of the BPYO training program requires students to attend the Bay Philharmonic concerts (ticket valued at $240.00 for free). BPYO students Membership fee for the 2023-2024 Season (see below) includes tuition as well as free admission to the Bay Philharmonic concerts for the students & families.
• The 2023-2024 Season starts on Monday, 9/11/2023 and ends on Saturday, 6/01/2024 with a Side-by-Side performance with the professional musicians of the Bay Philharmonic.
• Weekly rehearsals are on Monday except for school holidays.
Melodia - 4:10pm to 5:40pm
Extended combined rehearsals until 7:00pm may be called as needed prior to performances.
• Concurrent weekly private music lessons are required. Simultaneous school band program is encouraged.
• Active and consistent participation in all BPYO rehearsals, programs, and performances to the student's best ability.
• Membership Fee :
Melodia - $650.00 which includes tuition and free admissions to all four Bay Philharmonic concerts for the
BPYO student and two accompanying parents. Additional Tickets may be purchased.
• Parent volunteering is required. The Parent Team Coordinators will contact all parents separately regarding sign ups for volunteer duties to assist with students' welfare regarding safety and health related protocols, as well as concert preparation and reception/backstage assists. Parents are requested to exercise mutual courtesy and cooperation with all BPYO volunteer personnel.
• Bay Philharmonic offers side-by-side performance(s). Failure to attend the mandatory combined rehearsals may disqualify student from performing in the Side by Side concert at the discretion of the Directors.
• Attendance commitment through the Season is required, please note that all paid fees are non-refundable. Students are to follow practice instructions per weekly group emails and be well practiced and ready to rehearse. Students are to exercise mutual respectful to BPYO instructors and fellow musicians. Students are to respect the usage of all venues and avoid becoming personally liable to damage on the properties caused by personal actions.
• By submitting this registration form, the respective parents/legal guardians of the student (Releasor) representing said party collectively, agrees with BPYO (Releasee), to the terms of the Consent, Waiver and Release of Liability Agreement as set forth below:
The Releasor acknowledges and understands the risk of unintended mishaps while attending the BPYO program and events which may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death. The Releasor hereby releases covenant not to sue, discharge, and holds harmless the Releasee, of and from any claims based on actions, omissions, or negligence of the Releasee whether any disease infection or injuries occurs before, during, or after participation in any and all BPYO activities.
The Releasor further consents and gives permission to use group photographs, videos, and virtual performances publicly on BPYO website, social media, and printed/online publications to exhibit or promote the BPYO programs. The Releasor agrees to waive any form of royalty fee or other compensation of such use. This Consent, Waiver, and Release of Liability Agreement will be construed in accordance with and governed by the laws of the State of California, and it is acknowledged by the Releasor to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of this jurisdiction.
