Chemistry Undergraduate Teaching Assistant (UTA) Application: Spring 2021
The Chemistry Department provides opportunities for undergraduate students to gain teaching experience in general chemistry courses. UTAs help out in courses in a number of ways, for example by facilitating chat or answering students' questions during course lectures and offering tutoring or review sessions for students. Due to the pandemic, all work will be done remotely.

REQUIREMENTS: The total time commitment for a Chemistry UTA position is 56 hours during the semester, which is 4 hours per week. If you are selected to be a UTA, you will be assigned to one course for the semester. As part of your assignment you must:

- Attend every class meeting for the course you are assigned (2.5 hrs/week)
- Host one weekly drop-in session (1.5 hrs/week)

TRAINING: Applicants must have completed general chemistry I and II with a B or higher, or received AP Chemistry credit for CHEM 1111 and CHEM 1112. Transfer students are encouraged to apply!

COMPENSATION: Chemistry UTAs are paid $15.00 per hour up to 56 hours.

ELIGIBILITY: UTAs will be selected based on their professionalism, commitment to education, and ability to commit the required hours per week to the UTA position.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Saturday, December 5 by 11:59 PM. Only completed applications will be considered. Applications received after the deadline will be considered if placements are still available.

DECISIONS will be made by Friday, December 11 and notifications will begin the following week.
