Invitation Letter:
Survey on Emergency Mapping Team (EMT) Users Requirements

Dear Participant,

My name is Gregorio Rosario Michel. I am a PhD student of Prof. dr. ir. Joep Crompvoets, from the Public Governance Institute at KU Leuven, Belgium. I am conducting a research survey as part of my doctoral degree requirements. My survey is entitled “Identification of Emergency Mapping Team (EMT) Users Requirements”.

The purpose of this study is to identify minimum requirements of Emergency Mapping Team operations, in term of geospatial and non-geospatial information and services. The EMT products assist decision makers and key stakeholders at each phase of the disaster management lifecycle.

As an experienced professional in the field of Emergency Mapping, you are invited to participate in this survey to give us valuable first-hand information from your own perspective about what should be prepared beforehand to enhance the Emergency Mapping Team operations.

This survey will last no longer than 30 minutes. Your participation will contribute to the current literature on the subject of Emergency Mapping in the context of the Small Island Developing States in the Caribbean Region. Your responses to the questions will be kept confidential. Each survey’s response will be assigned a number code to help ensure that personal identifiers are not revealed during the analysis and write up of findings. In addition, all results will be presented as aggregate, summary data.

Your participation will be enormously appreciated as it will be a valuable addition to my research. The survey results could contribute to the better understanding of the governance of emergency mapping team operations. At the end of the survey analyses, you will receive a report presenting the main results of this research.

I would appreciate your participation in this important process for my research career. The deadline for completing this survey is February 10, 2020.

If you have any questions about this survey then please do contact me by e-mail: gregorio.michel@gmail.com; gregorioantonio.rosariomichel@student.kuleuven.be.

Best regards,
