Our society has suffered far too long and far too often from social injustice. In this virtual fireside chat-style event, we will take a critical look at the issues of social justice within different race and ethnic groups, backed up with speakers' experience from fields such as journalism and research, in order to teach us how we can continue with activism.

Our speakers are:

Rania Khalek: Khalek is a journalist, writer, and host of Soapbox, an online channel focusing on politics and social justice. She co-host podcasts such as Unauthorized Disclosure. Her work has appeared at The Intercept, The Grayzone, Al Jazeera, The Nation, Vice, Alternet and more.

Humberto Flores: Flores is a sociology graduate from UCLA. Currently, he is a Ph.D. student at UCR conducting an intersectional study on legal cynicism in sociology. His work focuses on policing practices that marginalize racially minoritized communities in the Inland Empire.
