Matt Jones Technology Fund Application Form
The People's Music Network (PMN) is a membership organization that sustains and grows a diverse community of performing artists, activists, and allies who use music, poetry, and other art forms as catalysts for a just and peaceful world.
The Matt Jones Technology Fund (MJTF) supports the participation of BIPOC artists (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) in PMN. We do this by providing mini-grants for audio equipment such as microphones, mic stands, audio interfaces, ethernet cables, and other tools used to perform at online events and to record at home. Most grants are in the range of $100-$150, based on need. For artists who are needing more expensive equipment to fulfill their artistic goals, we are open to considering grant requests beyond $150 to match personal investments by the artist. Mini-grants are generally awarded as reimbursements for items after they are purchased, with special circumstances considered.
We build reciprocal relationships with mini-grant recipients: the MJTF Committee organizes educational workshops on using audio equipment and one-on-one technical coaching. Artists become members of the People’s Music Network and share their skills and music with fellow PMN members. Once applicants fill out this form, members of the MJTF Committee will reach out to set a meeting to discuss equipment needs, performance opportunities, and membership in the People's Music Network.
