Housing Works Online Forum Theatre Troupe - Spring 2021 Application:

This program consists of 10 weekly sessions, Wednesday 3pm-5pm, starting March 3rd and ending near May 19th. Actors will receive a stipend - and a tablet, if requested - after participating in three rehearsals in the amount of $30.00 per session. Stipends will be sent via mailed check or Paypal at the halfway mark and end of the program.

Theatre of the Oppressed NYC (TONYC) believes that every human being is an ACTOR in their own life: by imagining and rehearsing solutions together onstage, we prepare ourselves to take action offstage. Using theatre and interactive games, we will brainstorm ways to confront economic inequality, racism, and other social, health and human rights injustices. We will also have FUN doing it!

Zoom Requirements: Due to COVID-19 restrictions and safety precautions, TONYC rehearsals and events have moved online. To participate in this troupe you will need regular access to a device that can connect to the internet and online video meetings. Please note this requires you to be on camera for all or part of each rehearsal. If your current access to WIFI or a device is unreliable, there is a section to apply for a tablet.
