2023-2024 Walking Off Campus Permission Slip
I give permission for my son/daughter to walk to or from school without supervision l unless I notify the office otherwise. I understand that students who are walking are expected to arrive at school no earlier than 8:15 and leave promptly at 3:15. I have reviewed, acknowledged and signed the form below that releases Arco Iris Spanish Immersion school of liability, waiver of claims, assumption of risks and indemnity agreement.

I understand that allowing my child/student to walk, or transport him/herself off-campus location will expose him/her to risks of injuries. Walking outside of the building without an authorized guardian goes against school policy. Some of these risks are foreseeable, but some are unforeseeable. Examples of risks include physical injury, emotional injury, property damage, economic loss, non-economic loss, and deprivation of rights, privileges, and immunities. This is also not an exclusive list of examples. Also, some of these risks cannot be eliminated due to the everyday dangers of transportation. I understand that these risks could cause harm to Student, his/her property, and harm to other persons.
I fully recognize the dangers inherent in the activity and I voluntarily agree to hold harmless, waive, release, indemnify, defend, and discharge any and all claims against the Arco Iris Spanish Immersion School, it’s board officers, employees, volunteers, and/or other agents to include executors and successors, acting on their behalf, and release them from liability, up to and including claims for any negligent actions of the School to the fullest extent allowed by law, any additional liability, claims, causes of action, or demands, including attorney fees, arising out of injuries of any kind to me, the student, or to our property, or losses of any kind which may result from or in connection with the student’s actions, up to and including injuries stemming from the negligent actions of the school or its employees or agents. I further certify and represent that I have the legal authority to waive, discharge, release, and hold harmless the released parties on behalf of myself and the above-named participant.
In the event that the student (s) may require emergency medical treatment, I authorize Arco Iris Spanish Immersion School and its agents, to secure the services of a physician or hospital and to incur the expenses for necessary services, and I will provide for the payment of these costs.
This Agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by law. If any provision or any part of any provision of this Agreement is held to be invalid or legally unenforceable for any reason, the remainder of this Agreement shall not be affected thereby and shall remain valid and fully enforceable.
I certify that I have read this document in its entirety and fully understand its contents. I freely and voluntarily assume all risks of such hazards and notwithstanding such, I agree to allow this student to walk unaccompanied to and/or from school.
