2021-22 Cathrine Johnson Grant Application
 Application Deadline =  Friday, April 16th, 2021
- Mrs. Johnson intended and required that her funds be spent on social activities and toward other types of cultural purposes that the children of Southwest Harbor would otherwise never be exposed to.
Examples of requests that have been funded:
o The funds may be applied to instruction or training in any fine arts and the purchase of supplies for such a grant request.
o Class trips
o Theater performances
o Visiting authors
- ***** People or organizations not associated with Pemetic Elementary School, whose proposals take place on school grounds, must coordinate their application with a member of the school faculty or administration. *****

- No grant request shall be funded at more than 20% of the total amount of funds distributed in a cycle.

- The school board has the discretion to use a portion of the yearly funds as startup “seed money” for programs as a means of getting them started but CJ funds should not be used to continually fund programs that should be paid for out of the school budget.

- The school board, as the deciding body, has discretion to make exceptions to the above parameters when justified.  Annually, after review and public discussion of the submitted proposals, the school board will approve those grants it feels are most justified for funding.
