DEADLINE EXTENDED: ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS UNTIL 12/8!

GEARS (Girls in Engineering and Related Sciences) Day is an annual event for women and non-binary high school students to explore engineering majors and careers alongside Penn engineering students. This year, GEARS Day will take place VIRTUALLY on January 8th-9th and January 15th-16th, 2022 with the following components:

1. Small group projects consisting of 10-12 students and 2 Penn student leaders. Students will work together to brainstorm, research, and design creative solutions to an engineering project.

2. Keynote speaker event

3. An optional mentorship program between Penn SWE students and groups of 2-3 high school students

**UPDATE: the OPTIONAL IN-PERSON component previously scheduled on January 17th, 2022 at the University of Pennsylvania campus has been postponed until later in the semester**

We hope that this serves as a great opportunity for your students to learn more about engineering in a fun, interactive environment. We will try to accommodate as many participants as space and resources allow; however, priority will be given to students from the School District of Philadelphia.

Applications close on December 1st at 11:59 pm. Final decisions will be sent out in mid-December.
