Thank you for your interest in Avenues to Apprenticeship. This is an 18-week paid training and employment opportunity for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, or Person of Colour/Visible Minority) youth between the ages of 18-29 that will prepare you for a career in the Skilled Trades. This cohort starts in May and ends in August. The first 4 weeks compose of in-class training from 9am-4pm Monday to Friday including the skilled trades, employability skills, mentorship, financial planning, listening to experienced skilled trades people, and much more! The remaining 14 weeks are a real-life placement found through independent job search and assistance from the coordinators. Both parts are a requirement for the successful completion of this program. The goal of the program is to provide training, knowledge, skills and networking opportunities to help you launch your career into the skilled trades. The pay is $15/hour for 6 hours a day.
