In light of the current COVID-19 pandemic, we believe it is of utmost importance to focus on the development of our cities and communities in a smart and sustainable manner.

This year, SU Real LIfe's proposed  theme is building Smart/Sustainable Cities and Communities with an emphasis on digital transformation. What this year’s theme will do is sum up the core dimensions of sustainability, being economic, social, and environmental dimensions within the proposed solutions.

What the competition will specifically focus on is making cities sustainable through smart applications. Meaning through creating career and business opportunities, safe and affordable housing, and building resilient societies and economies. It involves investment in public transport, creating green public spaces, and improving urban planning and management in participatory and inclusive ways.

This years Global Competition will be based on a hybrid mode. Teams have the choice to attend on-ground or virtually according to the teams convenience. International teams have the chance to be funded by SU Real Life, more information can be found in the final section.
