apologies for the formality of all this, but i want to be sure everything that's going on is totally clear and that i'm completely organized!
hi! it's courtney! you probably know me as andromedamn on twitter or magicalgurll on itch or that one pink girl who sort of lurks in a lot of tabletop servers but doesn't necessarily say very much. my current employer matches charitable donations made by employees up to $1k, and i'd really like to take advantage of that. that's KIND OF A LOT for just me to do, but even though i certainly don't expect to hit the limit, i thought a little itch bundle would be a great way to raise funds to really make the most of the opportunity to have those dollars matched! i'm asking for submissions for this bundle from anyone interested in supporting the cause; i'm still kind of a baby designer myself and so i have, like, two paid games to offer, which isn't really much of a bundle lol.
the charity i'm aiming to support is called Katelynn's Closet. they provide clothing and supplies to disadvantaged children back on my hometown of Cape Cod, and, without getting too into it, they did a lot for me when i was in high school, so i'm always looking for ways to give back now that i'm in a much better spot. i understand that this isn't necessarily a pick with a lot of universal appeal, as it were, since it's so local in scope, but it's definitely a good cause!
100% of bundle profits will go to Katelynn's Closet (after itch takes their share), but, in the interest of full disclosure, the money does have to go through me first so i can get my employer's matching contribution. from what i know, the famed giant itch charity bundles (like the racial justice bundle or the palestinian aid bundle) worked with the charities they were supporting so that those charities made itch accounts and received the payments directly, but my employer's matching program requires that the donation come from the employee. i'm going to post and provide all receipts of the donation, which will be made as soon as the money is in my bank account, as well as documentation of my submission into my employer's matching program through Bright Funds, and any other documentation they send me. also, my twitter and itch and really most of my social media are directly attached to my full name (courtney gurll (everywhere you see "gurll" is a pun)) so i'm hoping the accountability that forces on me adds some trust, too! if there's anything else i can provide to help assure people that all money involved is going to the right place, please just let me know.
the bundle has no particular theme; any tabletop games or supplements or video games or assets or whatever will happily be accepted (i expect it to be ttrpg heavy just due to the circles i run in lmao). please make sure you provide good contact info; editing bundles on itch is basically impossible, so if someone doesn't respond after their game is added, the whole thing has to be remade from scratch. good contact info ensures that i can let you know when the bundle is ready and you can approve your presence in it!
this is my first time making an itch bundle, and while i've been a participant in a few, i'm very much still figuring out the logistics of how to best do this! my thoughts are as such: the bundle price will depend on how many games we end up with, but i'm likely to keep it in the $5-$10 range. the bundle will only proceed if we get at least five contributions total (which i expect to happen). the bundle will probably last for about a month; we've missed the back to school rush but i think it would be nice to get the donation in while they aren't completely out of its throes. i don't have a clever title for the bundle yet! i am happy to take suggestions via this form, and i am absolutely happy to take feedback on the setup of this bundle as well.
i'm going to keep this form open for like a week and a half, so it closes on 9/16 so i can set up the bundle that saturday the 17th—by then i will have finished my new game so i can slap it in the bundle lol.
