Course Descriptions:

1. Topics in 1 Samuel (Felix Chiu and Brent Bian)

Covering a wide array of episodes including the unlikely birth of Samuel, the demand of Israel for a strong king like Saul, or the unexpected rise of David from a shepherd boy to becoming the next appointed king and conqueror of Goliath, this class will focus on the stories of 1 Samuel and how they relate to the book's central theme: that while man might look at worldly abilities, God looks at the heart.

2. Reasonable Faith (Cliff Soon, Paul Tseng, Guan Hsu ... so far)

You may have heard it said that faith is the enemy of reason, but Proverbs 9:10 tells us that “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding” - that belief in God is in fact the foundation of reason. Indeed, Christianity has had to depend on reason from its very founding. In this class, based on “The Reason for God” by Tim Keller, we will explore questions such as: the “exclusive” claims of Christianity, suffering, science, and clues to belief in God.
