We are seeking a detail-oriented, collaborative, book-loving person to help us produce error-free, biblically-rich published works. The Associate Editor is responsible for assisting in the creation of Hosanna Revival’s published works, including acquisition, editing, and proofing of the manuscript. This individual should be organized, skilled in editing, and well-versed in basic theology and knowledge of the Scriptures. This position is imperative to our operation because it will help us pursue new publishing opportunities, provide informative and creative content to our customers and readers, and guarantee that all published content is credible and accurate.
Desired Skills and CompetenciesHigh school diploma or equivalent
Experience or education in writing or editing preferred
Familiarity with The Chicago Manual of Style or The Christian Writer’s Manual of Style
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Strong understanding of grammar, spelling, and punctuation (copy editing and proofreading skills)
Strong knowledge of the Bible and an understanding of Christian theology and doctrine
Passionate about biblical literacy and educating believers to know God’s Word
Detail-oriented (ensure written work is error-free and aligns with the mission of Hosanna Revival)
Excellent multitasking skills and ability to meet or exceed expectations while handling multiple tasks or projects simultaneously
Fluency in Google Workspace (Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.)
Self-starter, confident, high energy, inquisitive, outside-the-box thinker
Excellent organizational skills
Duties and ResponsibilitiesEdit manuscripts for clarity, grammar, style, and adherence to editorial guidelines
Assist in acquisition for printed publications (reviewing book proposals, author interviews, author selection, etc.)
Assist in in-house proofreading for printed publications
Keep project timelines on schedule and predict delays
Provide theological oversight to ensure all published content adheres to the doctrinal statement of Hosanna Revival and is biblically sound
Verify all content adheres to the mission statement of Hosanna Revival, complies with The Christian Writer’s Manual of Style, and reflects the brand and voice of Hosanna Revival
Represent with excellence the Hosanna Revival brand and the gospel of Jesus Christ
