When Newport Mall was developed, the area was in need of gentrification.  The Mall would be a physical barrier to the residents of Hamilton park to the waterfront.  During the approval process access was clearly intended through the mall while the PATH is in operation.  There is no disagreement to this fact.  The drawings and most of the testimony refer to 8th Street Access.  Due to historical street names access at 9th Street is not as clearly defined.  The Newport Mall for decades has kept the 9th Street Access open.  The Mall citing numerous reasons has decided to close the 9th Street Access after hours.  

This survey is to gather data on your opinion regarding the 9th Street Access point.  This survey is not to discuss access on the east side of the mall.
