Any Ridgeway student may participate in the Spelling Bee, not just Spelling Club members.  (All spelling club members are automatically invited to compete in the Spelling Bee.)  However, please know that the District Spelling Bee requirements are for contestants grades 3-8.  The school bee will have a Champion and Runner-Up, with the Champion moving on to the District Spelling Bee if they are grade 3 or above.  
The school Spelling Bee will take place on Thursday, February 8 at 5:30 p.m. in the Media Center.  Parents are invited to attend.  Please enter the doors by the media center (west side of the building).  If possible, please do not bring toddlers or infants.  If you must bring them, please exit to the hallway quickly if they become noisy or fussy.  The deadline to register is Tuesday, February 6.  This is a firm deadline as I need time to prepare materials.  Please contact Maria Cox at mcox@cpsk12.org with any questions.
