The deadline to opt-in for bus transportation for the 2023-24 school year is May 31.
Information for 2023-24:
Bus transportation zones and numbers of riders on the bus will be the same as those implemented for the 22-23 school year.
For increased routing efficiency, families who want their children to ride the bus to and/or home from school must OPT-IN for transportation.
Families must submit this OPT-IN form for their children to have a seat on the bus.
Solon High School students who live more than 1 mile from school will be eligible to ride the bus.
Students will be assigned a bus stop within the distances from home noted below providing their families opt them in for bus transportation. These distances enable the district to continue providing the same level service for all families. Staffing continues to be a challenge and our priority is providing safe bus service to as many families as possible.
Bus stop distance from home:
Grades K-4 = .175 mile
Grades 5-8 = .275 miles
Grades 9-12 = .3 miles
Pick-up and drop locations: Students may have 1 stop plus their home in the morning and afternoon. This includes day care locations.
Parents of kindergarten students must be present at the bus stop to receive their students after school (unless the student is being transported to a day care location).
If you also need day care or shared parenting transportation you must also complete the 2023-24 Day Care/Shared Parenting Transportation Request Form.
