Troop 437 Metro Rock Overnight Jan 2023

Outing: Metro Rock Overnight, Everett MA 

Arrive: 8:45 PM on Friday, January 6th

(Note: those attending Intro to Climbing belaying training should arrive at 7:30 PM. Scouts accompanying them can try the bouldering area until the overnight begins at 9 PM.)

Depart: 8:00 AM on Saturday, January 7th  

Cost: 

  • $65 for climbing, overnight, late night feast, light breakfast
  • A limited number of Scouts can also sign up for the ropes course, which is an additional $10.  
  • $5 for non-climbing attendees

The January trip for Troop 437 is an overnight Lock-In at MetroRock climbing gym in Everett (http://www.metrorock.com/boston).  Enjoy:

  • All the climbing you can handle, top rope and auto-belay
  • Bouldering with top out options on some routes
  • Optional High Ropes course ($10 extra, limited number of spots available)
  • Movies, Midnight feast, and Games

Adults and scouts age 14 and older can belay for the group.  We need sufficient belayers to support the group.  If you have been trained to belay previously then you are allowed to belay with a brief refresher/test.  If you have not belayed before, but would like to learn, then you will need to attend a belaying training session at 7:30 PM the day of the event.  Please indicate if you are willing to belay and need the training session on the permission slip and also indicate if you have been certified to belay in the past.

To bring: Bring water bottles, sleeping bag, pad and any games you might want to share.

Information will be sent to those signed up prior to the event to arrange carpooling.
